Professors Karl Coplan and Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., co-directors of the Environmental Litigation Clinic, were quoted in The Daily Independent (Kentucky) article, “Coal company’s corrective plan to use same sample collectors.”   In a plan recently submitted to the government in Kentucky, the same organizations responsible for faulty pollution reports published by ICG Coal will now be responsible for collecting the samples to show that ICG is compliant with pollution regulations.

“The fact that these companies are ready to hire the exact same people that got them into trouble just shows that the responsibility for these violations lies with the companies themselves, not just their contractors,” says Prof. Coplan.
