Professor David Cassuto honored at World Congress on Bioethics and Animal Rights

The World Congress on Bioethics and Animal Rights recognized Professor David Cassuto recently for his work in the advancement of animal rights. Prof. Cassuto, along with Professors David Favre and Steven Wise, received the title of Lifetime Member of the Abolitionist Institute for Animals (IAA) at the Congress held in Reclife, Brazil.

Convened by the IAA in partnership with the Federal University of Pernambuco and Federal University of Bahai, the the third annual Congress featured scholars and activists from around the world.

Among the courses Prof. Cassuto teaches at Pace Law School are animal law, water law, international comparative law, and legal and environmental theory. Prof. Cassuto directs the Brazil American Institute for Law and Environment (BAILE), a cooperative endeavor with the Getulio Vargas Foundation School of Law in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He was a Fulbright Fellow at FGV Direito Rio, in Rio de Janeiro Brazil in 2010 and a visiting professor at the Federal University of Bahia, Brazil.
