Pace Energy and Climate Center calls for NYS to require plans to address impact of man-made climate change
As reported in the “Albany Times-Union,” the Pace Energy and Climate Center is among the public interest groups that has called for public utilities to be required to prepare plans to protect systems from dangers posed by man-made climate change.
As communities continue to address the devastation caused by Superstorm Sandy, the coalition filed the petition with the New York State Public Service Commission. The storm, the petition reads, exposed “weakness in long-term planning across the state, as customers have been left without access to electric, gas, steam, telecommunications and water utilities for extended periods.”
