The Oakland Tribune consults with Prof. Bennett Gershman regarding professional discipline
Writing about a legal case in California, a reporter from “The Oakland Tribune” spoke with Professor Bennett Gershman.
South Bay District Attorney Jeff Rosen must decide whether to discipline an assistant district attorney– who also happens to be his closest friend– after an appellate court found that the ADA had engaged in a “pervasive pattern of misconduct” during a trial.
An expert in prosecutorial misconduct, Prof. Gershman shared his opinion regarding the ethical issues
and whether he thinks action is warranted.
“As far as misconduct involving oratory, on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the worst, this was a 10. I think he sets a bad example,” Prof. Gershman is quoted as saying.
