Reuters quotes Prof. Bennett Gershman about a case involving JPMorgan and NYS Attorney General’s office
In an article posted to Reuters, Professor Bennett Gershman provided his perspective on a case involving JPMorgan and the New York State Attorney General’s office. The bank raised questions of conflict of interest, pointing out that a lawyer working on the case against the bank worked on a similar case before joining AG Eric Schneiderman’s office.
“Bennett Gershman, an expert on prosecutorial misconduct at Pace University Law School, called it ‘highly unusual’ for a lawyer in the attorney general’s office to be recused from working on a probe, then back on the case, and then recused again,” reads a portion of the article.
“I think a judge would be seriously concerned,” Prof. Gershman is quoted as saying.
