Wall Street Journal quotes Professor Gershman on issue of “double jeopardy”
Professor Bennett Gershman commented on “double jeopardy” and whether it could apply in a situation involving a computer programmer who formerly worked for the Goldman Sachs Group Inc. The programmer faces state charges for the alleged theft of programming code after his 2010 conviction in federal court on the same allegations was reversed.
Quoted in the Wall Street Journal, Professor Gershman said the concept of double jeopardy is challenging.
“I think it’s one of the most complicated provisions in the Bill of Rights because the language is so vague,” Professor Gershman is quoted as saying.
