Prof. McLaughlin comments on New Rochelle labor issue
The City of New Rochelle, NY and its largest police union have agreed to a new 10-year contract. The length of the contract has raised some questions. In its coverage of the issue, the Journal News sought the opinion of Professor Randolph McLaughlin.
“For the union, sure, I know what I’m going to be making in eight years, but what the police officer doesn’t know is what the cost of living is going to be in six years,” Professor McLaughlin said. “I can’t imagine why a union would agree to that.”
